Week 7 and 8

Hello everyone,
Sorry for the delay in communication. As you can imagine it has been an extremely busy time.

The topic on everyone's lips has seen quite a few changes recently. Rest assured, Ms. Roberts will communicate all information as it comes to hand. In the meantime, if you happen to come across any hand sanitiser (hard to find, I know) could you please think of Room 32.

I will be running Room 32 as per normal apart from the more frequent hand washing and sanitising. I also clean the tables twice a day in addition to our lovely cleaners and their amazing efforts to keep us safe and germ free.
If you have any concerns please come and speak with me, or go directly to the admin office for information.

Thank you to everyone for your understanding in these ever changing times. Special thanks to Maria and Ria for their care packages and cards of love and support. You truly don't know how much it is appreciated. Thank you for making me feel valued.

Lots has been happening in all learning areas:

English - types of nouns and verbs, adjectives, mentor sentences, reading, reading and more reading, spelling, handwriting and lots of phonics work.

Writing - persuasive writing to tackle the big topics of the world. So far we have written about the effects of keeping animals in cages, mining Antarctica, palm oil plantations, water pollution to name a few.

Maths - lots of number - place value, addition and subtraction strategies, measurement, problem solving, mental maths fast facts and time tables.

Science - Chemical Science: all about materials and their uses.

History - changes over time. Looking at the history of Wattle Grove Primary School and the surrounding community.

ICT - computer skills, Literacy Pro, Passion Projects.

Health - resilience and how to keep safe during sickness.

Congratulations to our Merit Certificates winners this week:

Imaan and Mehar

In our little foyer we have begun to display the WOW Writers for the week. Their work can be seen in frames stationed above the drink baskets.

Congratulations so far to:

Jai

Larissa

Sharon

Priscilla

Tom

Nikki

for making the hall of 'frames' (yeah, lame, I know!)

I will leave you with a photo of an extremely clever little poppet...Priscilla, who wrote her name on the board in Chinese.

Stay safe everyone.
Thank you for your continued support.

With much gratitude,
